Here’s Why Your Local School is Failing

What 40 Years of Research Has Proven

There is one thing every American agrees on — our public education system needs an update!

What no one can agree on — what that update should look like.

The charter school movement began as an attempt at updating the system, but there is no data to support any gains. The truth is that all schools, public, charter and private schools are stuck in the 19th Century.

We have collected mountains of data over the last 40 years, and not one educational researcher or expert has come to any definitive conclusions as to this solution or path will help us reach every kid and prepare them for the 21st Century.

That’s why the school down the road from you is failing. That’s why high school graduates are prepared to do nothing. They can’t go to college and they can’t get a good paying job.

How did it get so bad? The fact is that we have relied on a 19th Century Curriculum and a 19th Century model for too long. Yes, we are still using these outdated and ancient theories in 2020.

The YouTube Video goes into much more detail about the old and new models of learning, but let’s break it down simply.

The 19th Century model relies on one teacher, one classroom and one learning pace.

The new model allows for multiple teachers, multiple learning paces and reaches each student individually.

For 40 years, the 19th Century model has widened the Achievement Gap, the Income inequality gap, the gender gap and the opportunity gap. It shouldn’t be a shock, since the 19th Century in America is a century of bigotry, racism, discrimination, fear mongering, and blatant cowardice.

Why are we clinging to the 19th Century? It’s probably one of the worst 100 years in American history. The 20th Century by stark contrast is one of the most progressive and hopeful 100 years in American history.

In the 20th Century, we landed on the moon, we saw Civil Rights legislation, we saw the Women’s movement, we protected seniors and children with disabilities.

In the 20th Century, it’s as if America finally woke up!

But the 20th Century is over. It’s 2020. And just in case you didn’t realize, but students in Kindergarten today will be alive at the turn of the next century — yes the 22nd Century.

Wouldn’t it be smart, wise, prudent to update and upgrade our educational system now for the next 100 years? Instead of being behind the curve, be ahead of it. Let’s prepare kids for the 22nd Century, and then maybe they have a competitive advantage over other kids and nations who are thinking about educating in the 21st Century.

Yes, American kids and teachers would be 100 years ahead of the rest of the world.
