“Oh what a tangled web we weave.” — Sir Walter Scott

My niece turned 18 this year and she is graduating from High School. In my family, the next step is to go to college. It’s not a question or even a discussion. That’s just where you go — college.

But the problem is that my niece is a good person.

She has never hurt a fly, let alone thought about hurting a fly.

She is just like millions and millions of teenagers who naively (and courageously) believe they can change the world.

That’s how teenagers are supposed to think.

We want — strike that.

We need teenagers to be idealistic, because hopefully their idealism will think outside the box and fix some of society’s problems.

But that naïveté also leads to one common problem.

Group think.

So where can my niece go to college?

For the last decade, woke thought groups have talked about creating safe spaces on college campuses — and they were Nazi militant in their take down of gender norms, roles, and even pronouns.
